Underrated Product!

I love this product, and while I don't know how much longer it will be around I thought it deserves a shout out!

To Clinique's Take the Day off Cleansing Balm! It is a balm that turns into a silky oil as soon as you rub it into your skin. It takes off ALL your makeup, without leaving a trace of anything on your skin. Doesn't irritate the eyes, and it is far easier to use than many cleansing oils I have tried.

I was skeptical when I first tried it, but quickly fell in love! I now have 2 backups, just in case the rumors I heard of it being discontinued prove true.
I recommend giving it a shot, especially if you want something easy and effective to remove all your face and eye makeup at the end of the day.

Nude Nail Polish

Today I took my first venture into nude nail polish, and I have to say I love the simple sophisticated look it gave my nails. I'd heard such good things about Essie's Topless and Barefoot nail polish that I picked it up when I saw it at work. Gorgeous color, perfect shade of nude for my fair skin! I probably could have done three coats, or 2 slightly thicker coats, but it still looks great in person.

Here's a photo.

Just thought I'd share :)

Clinique Moisture Surge

So I'm not a huge tinted moisturizer wearer, although I've always been fond of the idea. Last year I even bought Laura Mercier's Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer after hearing many rave reviews, but didn't end up wearing it terribly often. I got Clinique's Almost Makeup last year when I started working with Clinique (as it was the only shade that would blend into my incredably pale skin -sigh- story of my life.) And again while I liked it, it sometimes felt a little sticky on my face. I've tried others but none seemed to jump out at me. Now a few months ago I went into the Clinique counter and tested out the Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer on my neck and it seemed to blend in pretty well so I picked it up. Now when I got home and tried it on my face, WOW. Good coverage, luxurious feel (smooth, very blendable, not sticky in the least) and has a really nice finish. Not to mention SPF 15 is always nice. It's got that lovely lightweight moisturizing feeling that the Mosture Surge Moisturizer offers, but has quite good coverage and lasts all day! I didn't find it breaking down, oxidizing, or in any way standing out on my skin. By far, my favorite tinted moisturizer I have discovered!

new blog, new content

I have decided to give blogspot a go, as it seems to be easier with the layout/template changing then wordpress does. More flexibility anyway! This blog is going to be beauty and cosmetic product dedicated. I have a passion for the products, and might as well share my experiences with you all. Even though right now I am currently on a makeup buying ban... I can still share with you from the things I've already got. When I realized I had over 100 lipglosses I knew something had to be done to force me to use some stuff up haha. I will however keep you guys updated on my "Project 10 Pan" (using up at LEAST 10 products before I allow myself to purchase any more.) I did make an order into Sephora a few days ago.. but that's the last thing. I FINALLY ordered the Urban Decay Naked palette (yay) as well as 2 stila palettes, and the Urban Decay All-Nighter setting spray. I've been looking for a good setting spray for some time and decided to give this one a go. I HATE when my face looks powdery or my makeup creases around my mouth. uuugh. I think moving into a new place has forced me to go through all my things and evaluate them, I've sure thrown away a lot of stuff!

A product I recently purchased that I was signifcantly underwhelmed with was Covergirl eyeshadow. We were having 50x the shoppers optimum points with any 25$ Covergirl purchase or more so I decided to take advantage of that, and while I enjoy the lipstains and new Natureluxe lipbalms, the eyeshadows were seriously unpigmented and rather chalky. Hate to say it, but eyeshadows are something I'm really started to appreciate from the higher end brands, lancome being a favorite of mine for application. So smooth, and great lasting power! My lovely boyfriend was kind enough to purchase me the Showstopper quad (brown quad, 2 shimmers 2 mattes) during the Lancome gift with purchase at the Bay. Here is the gift choices from this year:

I chose High Resolution Refill-3x, Genifique sample, the eyeshadow quad, the fuchsia lipstick, flash bronser and effacernes concealer in Porcelain.

Here's the eyeshadow quad we purchased to get the gift:

Clinique GWP is coming up at Sears the first 2 weeks of May, but I'm not sure if there's anything I need to be honest. (thank goodness I can finally admit that to myself haha.) after working for Clinique for 3/4 of a year, I think I accumulated enough things. I am excited to try out all the new Lancome stuff, I'm a fan of the brand although I do find some things a bit pricey.
